2K24 Best ProAm and Rec Lineups
These are our recommended lineups for competitive 5v5 ProAm and Rec. In general, your goal should be to hit each item on the Key Attribute Threshold check list for each position.
Lineup Main Ball Handler PG
6’4 Meta PG
6’4 PGs are the meta height for main ball handlers in a 5v5 setting. They have access to small guard animations and HoF speed booster. They generally skip out on defense and just guard the corner.
Key Attribute Thresholds for 6’4 PG
As long as you are on a 6’4 PG and hit these exact attribute thresholds you are meeting our recommended 5v5 Rec and ProAm PG template for your lineup.
- 92 Ball Handle
- You will most likely want 95 for HoF Speed Booster, but 92 gets you basically every S tier dribble animation in the game for small guards except Steve Francis
- 94 3 Ball
- You will need Gold Agent 3 against quality defenders.
- 98 Mid Range
- It is cheaper to use mid range to unlock Hall of Fame Blinders and Deadeye so that you have more options to get 3s up against quality competition.
Lineup Secondary Ball Handler SG
6’6 Meta PG
6’6 PGs are the meta height for secondary ball handlers in a rec/pro am setting. They have all the attribute caps you need while having cheaper attribute weight on the important attributes. They also have access to some of the best playmaking/shooting animations in the game.
Key Attribute Thresholds for 6’6 PG
As long as you are on a 6’6 PG and hit these exact attribute thresholds you are meeting our recommended 5v5 SG Rec ProAm Secondary Ball Handler template for your lineup.
- 86 Ball Handle
- All the wing size animations you need and silver speed booster
- 94 3 Ball
- Unlock Gold Agent 3 and Silver Limitless Range to expand the court.
- 98 Midrange
- Take advantage of the cheaper mid range points to unlock Hall of Fame Blinders and Deadeye.
- 91 Steal
- Steals are very powerful this year and Gold Glove, Interceptor and Right Stick Ripper will have you doing your part.
Lineup Lockdown SF
6’7 Pure Lock
6’7 Lockdowns are the meta height for defenders in all game modes. They get access to all HoF perimeter defensive badges and the shortest height for anchor.
Key Attribute Thresholds for 6’7 SF
As long as you are on a 6’7 SF and hit these exact attribute thresholds you are meeting our recommended ProAm Rec 5v5 SF template for your lineup.
- 76 3 Ball
- Silver Corner Specialist is all you need to consistently hit from the corner.
- 82 Midrange
- Can go lower if you prefer but this will get you gold catch and shoot plus a lot of the better jumpshot bases in the game
- 87 Perimeter Defense
- 94 is meta but 87 gets you gold challenger and silver clamps if you want to be more well rounded elsewhere. But 94 is the goal.
- 96 Steal
- Can go up to 99 but 96 gets HoF Right Stick Ripper which should be plenty
- 77 Block 61 Interior Defense
- Need both for Bronze Anchor and Chasedown
- 90 Strength
- Access to gold Immoveable Enforcer. Can go up to 95 if you want HoF but this badge is arguably better than Clamps at getting bump animations
Lineup 6’8 Backend
6’8 PF
6’8 Bigs are the meta height for PF because the big man attributes weigh way less than taller builds, and you can still get very high ratings in all the important attributes. Mashing isn’t as effective as in past 2ks, so 6’8s can stop 7 footers well enough to make it an inefficient play style.
Key Attribute Thresholds for 6’8 PF
As long as you are on a 6’8 PF and hit these exact attribute thresholds you are meeting our recommended 3v3 PF template.
- 76 3 Ball
- Silver Corner Specialist is all you need to consistently hit from the corner.
- 82 Interior Defense
- Can go to 85 if you want gold anchor or 88 if you want gold post lockdown higher but this will you get silver post lockdown and is enough for silver anchor
- 87 Perimeter Defense
- Your goal here is to get Gold Challenger and Silver Clamps to make you viable on the perimeter for switches.
- 91 Steal
- Targeting Gold Interceptor and the deadly Glove/Right Stick Ripper Combo
- 87 Block
- Targeting Silver anchor, can go to 92 for gold anchor
- 83 Rebound, either offense or defense but not both
- 83 is the minimum but 93 getting you to HoF boxout and Gold Rebound chaser is worth targeting if your build can afford it.
- 90 Strength
- Looking for HoF Boxout Beast and Gold Immovable Enforcer.
Lineup 7′ C Big
7′ Inside Big
7 Foot Cs are the best height for bigs with their combination of speed, strength, and defensive/finishing attribute caps. They can dominate the boards, and make their presence felt around the court defensively. Can go 7’1 if you prefer
Key Attribute Thresholds for 7′ C
As long as you are on a 7′ C and hit these exact attribute thresholds you are meeting our recommended C template.
- 90 Standing Dunk
- Elite bigman contact standings dunks are the most effective way for bigs to score. Can go 92 for gold fast twitch or 96 for HoF precision dunker, but 90 is a good minimum threshold
- 75 Vertical
- Could go higher, but 75 will help give elite rebounding animations
- 92 Pass Accuracy
- HoF Break Starter is essential for ProAm. It is hard to score on the break without the clean passes.
- 87 Block / 75 Interior
- Targeting Silver anchor, can go to 92 for gold anchor
- 93 Rebound, either offense or defense but not both
- With an inside big you can afford 93 rebounding, either offense or defense, for HoF boxout and gold rebound chaser.
- 90 Strength
- Looking for HoF Boxout Beast and Gold Immovable Enforcer.
